Summary
For my portfolio assignment, I decided to explore each week’s content through characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Fanfiction has always been my coping mechanism when times are difficult, and it felt fitting that such emotionally laden topics be explored through that same lens. I’ve always had a hard time understanding social cues, and it’s through both watching television and writing fanfiction that I have slowly improved my social skills. I find that fanfiction in particular, allows me to more easily explore the minute ways of communicating through body language and facial expressions. By having to take my time writing out and learning about the different ways characters express themselves through their body movements, I’ve been able to translate that into my own life, slowly learning to better comprehend when I’ve said something wrong or hurt someone’s feelings and it gives me a chance to recognize and change my wrongdoings.

Clint Barton put his hands on the white table cloth, palms up. Here I am. Let's stop pretending. Natasha pressed the tip back into one of his open palms. It killed her to do it. Money was such a valuable thing to her, now. But so was autonomy. So was freedom from systematic pain. "I'm not her anymore." She said slowly, carefully. Half mooned blue eyes against that crinkle-nosed, toothy smile. Absolutely unreliable.
