Summary
There was more to the contract than a gnosis and test of Liyue. It seemed like a simple deal five hundred years ago: so long as Morax never had a soulmate, the Tsaritsa would never harm Liyue and she would not get his gnosis. But the moment he gained a soulmate, all that belonged to him was forfeit. He thought the deal left Liyue safe—he'd lived thousands of years without a soulmate. The Tsaritsa would be dead and gone by the time she'd have a chance to collect.
Five hundred years later, Childe appears in Liyue, Zhongli gains a soulmate mark, and everything falls apart.

Summary
Liyue was... interesting, to say the least. Its harbor, to which Childe was sent to on yet another glorious (utterly ridiculous) mission by Her Majesty, the Tsaritsa, was too hot, too crowded for Childe's liking. And yet, there was something about it that made him want to stay. Perhaps it was the way the breeze faintly smelled of the ocean and fish, the way Morepesok did, or maybe it was because Liyue Harbor was simply so alive. Or maybe, just maybe, it was because those amber eyes were far too enticing to leave behind, even if they were the eyes of his enemy.

Many have flocked to Liyue to try their hand at conquering Rex Lapis’ Path of Indomitable Jade, rumoured to be relentless in its challenge but bountiful in its reward. Unsurprisingly, Ajax’s one track mind honed in on the word challenge and ran all the way to Celestia with it.
No one told him it was a bygone tradition that vied for the emperor’s hand in marriage, not until much later, when Liyue was already decked to the nines in preparation for the coronation of the emperor’s beloved consort– an Ajax-shaped consort.
(In which a bored Childe thinks he’s scaling up mountains to fight adepti and gain bountiful gifts for his nation and all that jazz, but he actually ends up wooing one of them and fighting favour from the rest and-- uh, wait, what do you mean the eccentric rock enthusiast is the emperor--)

Summary
In all his years in the Fatui, Childe has never had problems following through with his archon’s orders. That is, until The Tsaritsa sends him his final mission--to leave Snezhnaya and marry the Geo Archon, Rex Lapis. He knows deep down that he must obey, yet the very thought of leaving his family makes him dizzy.
Embittered and betrayed, Childe vows to fulfill his mission without compromising himself, Rex Lapis be damned. Too bad he has absolutely no interest in Rex Lapis--he’s much more interested in the powerful Morax he’s heard so much about from the Liyue citizens...And then there’s Zhongli, a peculiar citizen who’s as alluring as he is mysterious. With the days to his wedding winding down, Childe must decide whether he will follow the demands of his country or the demands of his heart.
