Summary
Tommy Innit is a deaf kid in the foster system. After getting injured after a run in with one of his foster fathers he is left hospitalized. Throughout his healing he meets the next family willing to take him in once he gets discharged. Tommy has a bad feeling about it until he learns one of the kids knows sign language. Will this home give him a chance to finally express himself?

Summary
The doorbell chimes cheerfully, and Wilbur draws his attention to the door.
“That’s probably the pizza.”
“Yeah, I’m sure it is. I’ll get it.” Wilbur plucks Techno’s wallet from the side table and crosses the space between the living room and the front door, nudging his shoes aside in favor of answering the door.
Wilbur opens the door, creaky hinges and all, and stops. Gilded in the moth light is a boy- young and old at the same time, a golden halo dirtied and worn. His eyes are familiar- a sight he had not seen in three years time.
Wilbur stares at his little brother, who stares right back. Then he shifts, taps a toe on the ground, and clears his throat.
“I didn’t.. I didn’t know where else to go.”

Three years ago Wilbur's foster brother ran away without a trace. Wilbur never quite got over it, but was forced to move on with his life, certain he'd never see him again- until Tommy reappears on his doorstep one fateful Tuesday. Healing ensues.
