Summary
His mama, who had loved him through every terrible version of himself, who had never stopped answering when he called, who had never once made him question whether he was loved, was going to leave him. There was a part of him that wished she had made it easier on him. If she had broken away from him the way his father had, if she had stopped calling or stopped loving him or had given him some reason to be angry with her, maybe it would’ve been easier to deal with. Maybe the grief would've had somewhere to go.
But that wasn’t the case. She loved her son, her baby boy, and he loved her too.

“Absolutely. I trust you to do your due diligence.” Jack picks up a cookie and raises it in a cheers motion.
“To Trinity and Dennis.” Robby raises his next bite of pasta in agreement.
