With a forceful motion, she slammed the glass sliding door shut and pivoted to march away, muttering curses at the vampire under her breath, only to halt abruptly at the sound of a collision and the shattering of glass. Sarah turned, her vision tinted crimson, fixating on the shattered sliding door.
The humid air of Louisiana enveloped her as black eyes fixed on her with intense fury, Godric returning his arms to his sides. "I would never harm you!" He hissed, his body as rigid as stone.
"You ignorant slut!" She cried, disregarding his response, and unraveling the final vestige of her composure at the sight of the now meaningless frame that lay between them. Only her labored breaths echoed in the silence before the vampire erupted into laughter at her taunt.—
