    Summary

It was only a bit past nine pm when it happened. Kara’s mom had come downstairs, looking a bit nervous but trying to hide it like she usually did when something was bothering her. She smiled tightly at Kara as she passed through the living room into the kitchen, shuffling around doing who knows what.

Kara glanced at the clock and pieced together why her mom was nervous. Football practice for high school ended at eight thirty, and Conner was ALWAYS home before nine. Without fail. Even if he was going to be late, he’d call or message. Kara didn’t think too much of it at first, because there are so many reasons for a person to be late. Plus, his phone could’ve died or he just forgot to message. Sometimes Conner lost track of time when he was really into something, so Kara wasn’t worried.

    Maybe she should’ve been.

In which Clark chooses to raise Kara himself instead of sending her to the Danvers. Some things change, some don't.

Primarily SGTV canon with bits and bobs stolen from everywhere. Disregards SGTV after S2, unless I don't want to.

    Summary

Journalism was the only thing Lois Lane was good at.

She was never good at cooking, she was never good at cheerleading, she was never good at acting, she was never good at playing an instrument or singing. She was never good at the basic options… but she could read people like a damn psychic. She was able to take someone’s experience and make it a story. She was phenomenal at creating articles and finding the adjectives and sources needed to tell the truth, nothing but the truth, and only the truth. She could look at a politician and just see the headlines they could create. She saw the humanity that journalism helped create… and she always wanted to be a good person, and she found that through journalism.

And to have the love of her life tell her that her being a journalist (to the point that it’s a fault) hurts him.

It stung. It really did. It had truth within it; which is what hurts the most.

or... Lois and Clark argue after she misses their date night for the third time in the last two weeks, and she has to grapple with the idea that being a journalist is what makes Clark hate her, but that's not the truth, not in Clark's mind.

    Summary

However, when his hands touch the side… he doesn’t feel her warm skin, doesn’t feel the material of his flannel— but instead, he feels the empty space on the bed, the ice cool bedsheets, the space that had once held his girlfriend on changed with the dip of the mattress coming back to regular shape.

    Lois isn’t there.

His brows furrowed as his hand patted around the sheets, half asleep and very confused. His fingers touching every space on the bed— did she go towards the edge? Is she closer to him than he thought? But nothing. No body. Lois never got out of bed first— not after nights like the previous one. They'd both gone to sleep well past midnight, both bodies very sore and very bruised. Her voice hoarse after moaning his name for two hours, feeling him all up in her guts, her body trembling in his arms as the two of them fell asleep in a mess of limbs. He knew he fucked her good, and she never got up after getting her back broken.

Or... a Clois inspired fic about that one picture of the guy shirtless, hunched over on a laptop making the rounds on Twitter.

    Summary

Lois looks over at Clark, whose expression softens the moment Jeremiah is whisked away by Cat to give them enough time to cool off. His glare and scowl is immediately replaced with a soft smile and a glint in his eyes when he looks at Lois. “What was that about, Smallville?” Lois asks him, turning in her stool to face him completely.

Clark shrugs, taking a glance at her lips before looking back up at her eyes. “Nothing… just… didn’t like him touching you.” He admits, the bar’s music still pounding, everything around them didn’t shift except the air between them. He’s quiet with his words, almost ashamed that he acted the way that he did, not ashamed for the reason though.

Lois clicks her tongue, but she grabs the front of his shirt, dragging him off of the stools, pulling him towards her with her eyes locked on one place in the bar; the bathrooms. “You. Me. Bathroom. Now.”

Or... celebrating Lois Lane's birthday in a downtown bar was going great, up until one of Lois' ex-boyfriends shows up and decides to flirt with Lois directly in front of her 6'4, himbo hunk of a boyfriend, and who knew jealousy looked so hot on him when he bends her over the bathroom sink?
