Summary
Set after Buck and Eddie's confrontation at the station in 8x09, Bobby takes Eddie aside to help him work through his emotions about Buck's reactions.
This fic in no way places the blame on either Buck or Eddie for their spat, but I had this conversation in my head and couldn't let it go. Because Buck cops a lot of shit about his very valid emotions, and Eddie doesn't often understand, because both of our boys are oblivious and we love them for it and get frustrated by them in equal measure. Sometimes they both just need a helping hand.

Summary
Buck runs, and Eddie follows.
-----
It’s been over two months of chasing Buck across the country, from state to state to state, following a trail he suspects Buck doesn’t realize he’s dropping breadcrumbs on. If he did, Eddie worries he’d stop sending the postcards, and they’re his only clues. Buck left his phone in his apartment back in Los Angeles. If he’s gotten a new one, he hasn’t shared the number with anyone—not Maddie, not Chris, and certainly not Eddie.
So Eddie lays in a too-soft bed in a too-small cabin in the middle of bumfuck Nebraska, the first grey light of dawn creeping its fingers past the dusky pink curtains, and reads the postcard again. He knows what it says by heart, but it makes him feel a little less alone to hear Buck’s voice in his head.

Summary
“Ev,” Eddie’s soft voice had tears immediately welling in his eyes. He turned to face him.
Wait for me, he wanted Eddie to say, I’ll come back for you.
Please ask me to wait for you.
Eddie swallowed hard, sucking in a slow, deep breath.
Please. Please ask me to wait for you.
“Write to me?”

Summary
“I went out drinking with Ravi, and he found Tommy at the bar, I guess. Then out of nowhere Ravi was leaving, and Tommy sat down with me, and one thing sorta led to another and... and, he, uh. You know. Spent the night.”
Pulse rabbiting in his ears, Eddie’s jaw ticks. “He spent the night.”
“Yeah, but that wasn’t even the problem, really,” Buck says, exasperated. “Eddie—he told me that he dumped me because of you.”
The tune in his ears shifts from rushing blood straight to television static. “He what?”

Summary
Really, Eddie doesn’t care that the PTA aren’t his biggest fan. He knows he misses too many meetings, and it’s not like he’s best friends with any of the other parents. It doesn’t affect Christopher, so it doesn’t bother him. He’ll pay for the annual fundraising mugs and consider his duty done.
But then Buck picks Christopher up from a class trip and it all goes to hell.
Like, of course Buck is everyone’s dream guy. He’s responsible with kids, and kind, and funny and interesting and hot to touch. That’s obvious. But now Eddie’s fighting to keep the PTA moms, teachers, and dads, all off an unsuspecting and tempting Buck.
Because Eddie is a good friend. Right?

Summary
Buck goes missing, and Eddie goes crazy.
-----
Eddie came home expecting to step right into Buck’s open arms, to hear the soft gravel of his laugh, to finally fucking breathe for the first time since Chris walked out the front door and Buck held Eddie up with a hand on his shoulder. He expected to show up at Bobby and Athena’s new house tomorrow night for a welcome back party he wasn’t supposed to know of but had already heard about from Buck, Ravi (by accident, since he assumed Buck had already told Eddie), and Denny via Chris (he wanted to ask Chris what games he should bring over). He expected life to go back to normal, to how it used to be.
Instead, all he has is a pit in his stomach and a lump in his throat and a heart beating too fast, even while he’s standing still. He doesn’t panic, but for Buck, he might take up the habit.
“He’ll be okay, Eddie,” Bobby says, and when Eddie just hums noncommittally, he adds, “When have you ever not known him to be fine?”
“You want a list?” Eddie jokes, though he actually does have one, and each bullet point carries an addendum that says Eddie wasn’t there to keep him safe.
