Summary
“How was your date last night?”
He hears her inhale sharply. “Oh… You know. He was nice, it was nice.”
A terrible part of him is thrilled by how bad of a liar she is; how awful it must have been.
“Doesn’t sound particularly nice, Mel,” he jokes, nudging her shoulder with his own. Only, he doesn’t move back, and she stops moving to look up at him.
“Why did you invite me for boba?”
He swallows hard, eyes flicking between her eyes and her lips. “Because I was jealous.”
“J-jealous?”
“Yeah, Mel,” he laughs, like it’s obvious.

Summary
“Hey,” Langdon says, and even his voice sounds different, like he’s holding in a burp. The laugh dies in her throat, however, when she notices he's carrying... a bouquet?
"Sorry if they're ugly," he says, "I told the florist purple, and she ran with it."
Mel takes them out of his hands, but she doesn't stop blinking. "Um, thank you. But... why?"
He cringes. "Shit, it’s too much, isn’t it? It's been a while since I've been on a first date. I'm rusty."
Mel almost drops the flowers as she staggers backward. "What?"

Summary
He becomes aware of his hands flexing in the air with the effort not to touch her. She notices as well, shifting with a small, watery sound. And he looks down just as she looks up at him and she's goddamn adorable. She has a nose that deserves to be kissed.
“What's wrong?” she asks him, and it's so absurd how big her heart is, he just wants to laugh. It must show on his face, because she peels herself from him, shrinking. “I'm sorry. I'm freaking you out.”
“You're not.”
“I'm sorry,” she says anyway.
He misses her already. “Stop that.”

Summary
If Trinity had a magic lamp, and a genie, and three wishes, she’d ask for these things, in the following order:
1) Langdon to stop having all of his personal crises on the ED floor, mid-shift, in full view of the department
2) One—just one—of her other useless coworkers to see through his bullshit so she didn’t have to do literally everything herself
3) A team of a hundred interns to finish all of her charting, since she was about to have zero free time, seeing as she was the only person willing to address the fact that Langdon was now (evidently) sleeping at the goddamn hospital.
