    In an oddly humorous twist of fate, the unpaid intern holds the most power. Green stammers and stumbles, clearly unwilling to be the deliverer of the casting vote. They stammer and stumble over their words, tugging at the strings of their hoodie, the tips of the fabric darkened with sweat. Semi-coherent mumblings fill the silent air of the cafeteria, the first half of Red’s name, the first half of Yellow’s. After a series of pregnant pauses and flustered noises, Green casts their vote.

    “R-Red.” Green says, raising a shaky hand and gazing at the floor. “The captain. I vote for the captain.”

    CHAPTER SUMMARY:
    Ryland Grace and Eva Stratt discuss the issue with the astrophage breeding station in the Sahara and have a meeting with Donald Trump. On the way to their new objectives for the day, Shapiro, Grace and Stratt discover that Ilyukhina has been facing misogyny, homophobia and discrimination by the men she was assigned to train in the case of an emergency substitute engineer. When Eva Stratt finds out it had gone on for almost a week, since it had been assigned, she talks to Ilyukhina personally. Upon finding out her cold demeanour makes her unapproachable by a person who is not intimidated by her, she takes a step forward to make a change.

    Ilyukhina has self-esteem issues due to being Russian, where she feels her getting upset about the harassment she is facing means she is not competent for the job.

    Do not fear, for the hail mary team are practically family and care about each other deeply.
