Summary
Considering I read the Tensura Webnovel years ago, then not really interacting with it further, I certainly didn't expect the Voice of the World to greet me when I came to death's door. A blessing is a blessing, however, and if I want the best chance to make it out, hopefully with less pain than Rimuru went through, I'll have to be a little selfish.
Canon Rewrite through SI, tropey, yeah, but hopefully still good, like the fast food of fanfic.
Consider this a rough draft for Jealous of a Slime, the next fic in this series.

Being the Princess of the Northern Water Tribe, Yue lived her life knowing she would die before she hit 17 and she made peace with that.
She lived a good life. She tried to be kind, tried to help her people, did her best to be a good princess and even took a couple of potshots at patriarchy. She learned how to waterbend, learned more about spirits. She even sang Let It Go way too many times and occasionally hung out with stray animals. A bonafilde Disney princess.
She would have liked to travel more, to see the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom and Southern Water Tribe but she was content and ready when the time came.
Well.
To be honest, she did try to get out of the ‘becoming the moon’ deal. Stronger locks for the oasis, booby traps along the way, more guards to accompany her and the Avatar… But when Zhao did show up and he did kill the fish, she didn’t hesitate.
Her life vs the concept of waterbending and the fucking tides? Her entire people? Not even a question.
And she gave her life for the fish.
And the fish gave it back.
What is she supposed to do now?
