Max turned around, coming face-to-face with a proper cowboy. The man standing before him was dressed in the full getup: a Western yoke, bootcut jeans, cowboy boots, and of course, the hat. A far cry from the clothing Max had grown accustomed to seeing in London, where everyone cared more about elegance. In fact, Max was sure he’d never seen a pair of cowboy boots in real life.
He had seen cowboys before—on television, of course—but he’d never really understood the appeal. Until now, that is.
