Pianist Verso Dessendre quit touring for a quiet life. Nobody warned him how much quiet there would truly be.
When the doctor performing his yearly prostate exam turns out to be Gustave Virlogeux (his high school crush, unmentioned for twenty-two years), Verso concludes that destiny has a cruel sense of humor. Five Augusts later, they still haven’t talked about it.
This year, however, the ultrasound probe is out for repair, and Gustave will have to do it the old-fashioned way.

This is a story about concussed flirting, scars and second chances, about being seen completely — and two stubborn idiots learning that the rope works in both directions.
