Ten years have passed since Kira's reign of terror first shook the international community, his brutal ideology leaving an indelible scar on the world. It’s been three years since the Kira case was officially closed. Three years since Yagami Light’s trial at the International Criminal Court for his crimes against humanity, since his startling suicide at the stand in a final act of defiance. Three years since Detective L retired from the public eye.
Now, a series of crimes across the United States and Europe – targeting government officials, politicians, and corporate elites – has left law enforcement reeling. The world turns its gaze to L, hoping the detective might emerge to face this new threat.
Perhaps it’s time to come out of retirement.
Or: World leaders demand L take a new case. Lacking inspiration, he turns to a – very much alive – Light, whose been imprisoned at a high-security facility on L’s orders for the past three years.

Summary
When Fleki’s familiar fails to arrive, Kabru and Mithrun must continue to wander the lower levels of the dungeon, encountering monsters, getting to know each other, and eventually running into the Touden party.
Can Kabru successfully play mediator between a Canary captain and a party that used black magic? Will Senshi’s cooking change Kabru’s mind about monster cuisine? And just what is Kabru supposed to do about his developing affection for Mithrun? Is that affection returned, or is that more wishful thinking?
