Summary
Buck has been in a lot of awkward situations. Back when he first started sleeping around in LA, when he wasn’t looking for partners to spend the night with so he could have a place to sleep other than his jeep, and hasn’t gotten the memo yet of being gone before breakfast. A lot of rejections and job interviews where they would only focus on his lack of further education and not on the previous job experiences. A lot of dinner dates too where he just didn’t know how to behave or what were appropriate topics. All of them couldn’t compare to the full force of sheer wrong, wrong, wrong that has been hitting them since both Chimney and Hen have seen each other.
or: a kinda preview of how buck and eddie got there and also fix-it fic about the dinner intervention because the one we got was just sad to watch.

Summary
Buck's jaw clenched, shoulders tense. Diaz was human, Buck could smell it. Did Bobby not trust having a vampire on the team anymore? He hadn't lost control, he tried his best to listen. Was Bobby done with him?
Buck went and joined the team, forcibly ignoring the way Diaz's smile had his eyes shining or the way his hair fell perfectly over his eyes. Or the extra long canines could almost be fangs, longer than even Buck's when they were retracted.
Buck didn't know how, but he knew Eddie Diaz was going to throw his entire life out of wack. And Buck was finally happy with his life, he didn't want any more change.
~~~~~~~
Buck's a born vampire. And born vampires dont age after 25 unless they taste the blood of their fated mate. He's been alive for 111 years, having refused to drink from a human being, when the one person who would change everything walked into the station.
Summary
Evan Buckley knew he had never belonged to the Buckleys; something inside him said he wasn't part of that family. Maybe it was the toy fire truck he held in his hand, which he had always had and remembered, that whispered there was something more he didn't know could exist. The initials carved into the truck, R. N., made him wish he knew what they meant. Perhaps, in time, he could find himself.
Bobby Nash wanted to be angry, but what he really felt was worry. Buck was always reckless, rebellious, and never took care of himself, which terrified Bobby. He wanted to protect him, not knowing if the real reason was because he saw Buck in the little boy he lost years ago, or perhaps the mark that looked so much like his baby son's—though he knew it could just be a coincidence, because that's how things happened: coincidences. Buck couldn't possibly be Robin Nash.
Summary
Buck's hand moved before he could think about it, reaching across the small distance, finding Eddie's arm in the darkness.
Eddie went still.
Then his hand found Buck's, gripping tight, and Buck felt something in him give.
They turned toward each other in the darkness, and Buck didn't know who moved first, didn't know who reached for who, but suddenly they were pressed together, holding on like drowning men, like if they let go they'd be swept away by the tide of everything they couldn't control.
It was supposed to be comfort. Just comfort. Just two friends who'd seen too much, who needed something, anything, to make the world feel less like it was ending.
But Eddie's breath was hot against Buck's neck, and Buck's hands were fisted in Eddie's shirt, and the tension between them was building, shifting, becoming something else entirely.
Something they both needed more than air.
Or set during season 4 during the pandemic Buck and Eddie are sharing a bed and with the world around them crumbling they start reaching for each other in ways that push the boundaries of even their friendship.
Summary
Buck takes this moment to finally say, “I'm Buck by the way.”
“Bobby,” the man—Bobby—answers.
Buck looks at Bobby, studying him. “Yeah, you look like a Bobby.”
Bobby's eyebrows both furrow while also raise in confusion. “What is that supposed to mean?”
Buck shrugs. “It means you look like a Bobby.”
Bobby laughs, disbelief filling the air but it sounds good natured. “Whatever kid.”
Or, Bobby fresh out of rehab is on a roadtrip across the States as recommended by his sponsor Wendall. He doesn't know what he's looking for, but Wendall told him it's more about the journey anyway than the destination. Buck's been on his roadtrip of soul searching for four years now and still hasn't found what he's looking for. The two of them run into each other and find out that maybe it wasn't a what they were looking for but a who.
Or, or, a story of healing and finding one's self again.
