Vlad just wants to enjoy a nice hike through the forest, but Robin insists on ruining it for him by complaining about every little thing, like he's never been outside before. He's overreacting. Robin is always over-the-top when it comes to sunscreen, dirt, sweat, and the other miscellaneous sensations that come with a safe, normal trip into the great outdoors. Vlad's right to tell him to bugger off.

The posters went up last week, pinned to the noticeboard and blu-tacked to the walls of homerooms. It read: Stokely Grammar Charity Auction! All proceeds to SNAP Cymru!
Vlad stood in the hallway before first bell, eyes fixed on the stick-figure drawn at the bottom of the page in blue pen. It held up a sign that said 'buy me!’
The students of Stokely Grammar are auctioning services. It's all totally innocent, but knowing that doesn't keep the memories from attacking. Shackled children. The smell of burning wood. His father's disappointed face when Vlad was weak enough to cry over mere product.

Steve’s smile flickers. He looks down at his own coffee and runs a hand through his hair. It’s an old nervous gesture of his; it’s kind of sweet to see him do it now.
“Well, uh, I kind of have something to tell you too.”

Mike still had one more thing on his mind that’s been eating at him. It wasn’t that crazy of a question to ask. They had nothing better to do anyway. Also, they were friends and friends usually talked to their friends about these kinds of things, right? This could just be one friend asking another a simple question. Anyone would’ve done the same. To fill the silence, make the wait shorter. And he used to talk about El a lot, so it only made sense to give Will an opportunity to do the same.
"So who was it?" It came out in one frantic mess of a phrase that even Mike himself barely understood.
Will jumped a little, startled. "What?"
"Um, you said you had a crush on someone," Mike said, already failing spectacularly. "Who was it? Anyone I know?"

he's leaning across the counter, white tee and black leather vest twisting with his body. he's taller, which vlad thinks may be obvious, but he hasn't grown an inch since he was sixteen, so it surprises him how differently he carries himself. broader, too. filled out into his body - not especially muscular, but wide arms, thighs, the body of a man. it makes vlad feel nauseous, and it's at that moment he knows tal is right. he wants him so badly he can't see straight.
