Summary
Its loneliness was unavoidable, it always had been and always would be. Himeko knew this; every passenger aboard the express was fated to depart. After all, the only way to move forward was to take the first step, and whether that was entering or exiting the Express was not up to Himeko, but rather the passengers themselves.
Himeko was the exception to this idea though; she was bound to the train. Her journey was intertwined with that of the silver rails and had been for quite a long time. Himeko chose this for herself too, but that never made the sting any softer, no matter how many times she repeated the same mantra to herself. Call her tender, or gentle, or breakable, but Himeko couldn’t help the way her chest ached with every departed member, someone she had learned to trust and respect and love, now cleaving their own path in the universe. Himeko expressed nothing but pride at this prospect - it was the ultimate goal of the Trailblaze after all, and her duty as a navigator to promote.
—————————————————
TLDR; A Himeko-centric character study that explores motherhood and longing. (And a bit of Starch on the side!)

Summary
"She didn’t notice that her fist curled so tightly against the glass that her knuckles were starting to whiten.
“Stelle?” a familiar voice sounded rather suddenly from behind her. She turned around swiftly to see Mr. Yang standing there, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes before putting his glasses back on. It seemed he had woken up, whether that was by her or by something else. “I thought I heard some distant noise. Turns out I was right.”
“Oh,” Stelle said flatly, not thinking she’d been loud enough for him to hear. Apparently, she had. “Hi, Mr. Yang.”"OR
Stelle couldn't sleep and went for a walk in the Express, unexpectedly coming across Welt in the Parlor Car. They end up talking over hot soup about what happened in Amphoreus at three AM.

Summary
"It was terrifying. Absolutely terrifying.
Stelle thought – since she survived multiple unfair fights and situations where she shouldn’t have been able to walk alive – that she wouldn’t be scared of such a simple thing. Or was it?
Stelle staggered against the wall of the Passenger Cabin she’d been passing through, and she could swear that the whale-lights that carved the path on the ceiling multiplied, perhaps once or twice. She couldn’t really make it out anymore, her vision blurring.
Her free hand clutched her chest, a futile attempt to stop the stinging feeling in her chest that only worsened by the second, a scorching heat sent through her body with each surge."OR
After the fight against Fulwish at the TV Tower, the huge amounts of wishes that entered Stelle through the Wishpower didn't remain harmless after staying dormant for a few days. Stelle starts feeling the effects of the Stellaron twisting the wishes.

Summary
It's only been three weeks since Stelle woke up on The Herta's Space Station and joined the Astral Express, and she's already died, overthrown a government, and fought an immortal Lord Ravager that had pretended to be a friend. Stelle has been trying her best to help everyone, ignoring her own needs for others' sake in the process. All to quiet her fears that she isn't good enough and that the Nameless would leave her behind when they eventually realize she's just a burden to them. However, there's only so far someone can push themselves before they break.
Or, Stelle pushes herself too hard in a desperate attempt to feel like she belongs, not realizing she already does.
