The morning had started out great, in the universe’s defense. While never quite sunny in Gotham, today was as close as it got. No rain, thinner than usual smog, a gentle breeze in the air; it was the perfect Gotham day.
Then the sun set.
And then the Arkham alarm went off.

Summary
Everything seemed backward. Bruce Wayne's flirty, borderline crass comments barely turned the tips of Kent's ears pink, but a less-than-romantic conversation with Batman had the man turning shades of red he'd never seen before and stumbling over his words.
It reminded him of the way Superman sometimes acted, the times when Batman talked more. And he didn't know how to feel about that.
OR: Bruce Wayne has an embarrassingly large crush on Metropolis reporter, Clark Kent. Too bad the man wants nothing to do with him.

“This was a great idea,” Tim mutters, relaxing into the hot bath with a soft sigh. His cuts aren’t stinging anymore and the water feels heavenly. He blinks, eyelids getting heavy, then spots the beer again. The amber bottle is beaded with condensation, and it looks invitingly cool.
There’s a soft sound outside the bathroom window, followed by the unmistakable hum of Krypto’s heat vision and a short scream. Ah, ninja. The sounds of battle and mayhem continue unabated as he eyes the bottle again.
What can it hurt? He reaches out and wraps his hand around the pleasantly cold bottle before bringing it to his lips. It’s bitter, biting and bubbly and cold enough to wake him up a little.
The popping sound of gunfire nearby cuts off almost as soon as it begins, followed by silence and then more screaming and curses. He thinks he hears a faint, distant, “Oy, my soddin’ nose—!” but can’t be sure. Tim tilts his head, weighing his options, then shrugs. Eh, he’s sure Krypto has the situation well in paw. He loves playing fetch with ninjas.
