Then he gets the brilliant idea of finding out exactly how long it would take for someone to notice he's gone.
And unfortunately, that was a terrible idea.

Summary
All so suddenly, at that moment, something inside Kaeya's mind tore apart. A long distant memory which had been forcefully stitched together snapped the threads itself, causing the contents to spill in a raging flow.
Kaeya didn't see Diluc anymore — what he truly saw now was his former brother from that rainy night.
Or, Diluc got possessed and injured Kaeya badly to the point of disarming him — seriously. Now the both of them are forced to handle the aftermath.

A cool blast of ice flew over his shoulder, immobilizing the pyrochurl that Diluc had been dutifully chucking water balloons at. The tactical advantage of elemental reactions should never be overlooked in battle, especially when one's giant flaming claymore has little effect if the opponent enjoys being on fire. Unfortunately, he'd now traded one tedious nuisance for a one that was much more volatile.
Kaeya pesters Diluc to come forward as the Darknight Hero, all while refusing to tell him why. Unsurprisingly, this backfires on him and Diluc takes great satisfaction in re-learning how to be a big brother.
While refusing to process that he still sees Kaeya as a brother.
All of this with a surprisingly polite Abyss Herald, excessive compliments and many water balloons.

Summary
Another notification makes itself known with a jingle, and he looks over to his phone only for his entire body to tense up.
A message from Rosaria.
He barely knows anything about the woman besides her less than obvious fondness for Kaeya and the fact that the two of them drink together from time to time. An order spoken with mild vitriol is about as much conversation as they’ve shared.
So seeing that she’s decided to contact him out of nowhere is rather perplexing. Much as the message itself.

Summary
It is biologically impossible for a man to replicate technological functions. As much as Kaveh (and colleagues) like calling Al-Haitham an index of niche and generally insignificant information on legs, he will never quite live up to the title.
Here's a novel one: people must have taken to thinking of him as a human compass because they always seem to come to him when they're looking for Kaveh.
People keep coming to Al-Haitham when they want to know where Kaveh is. Al-Haitham would be lying if he said he didn't know why.
