Summary
Four years after an undercover operation swallowed three officers and barely returned one whole, young Detective Marty Hart finds himself in the interrogator's chair. At first, Rust Cohle seems willing to play along, answering questions and filling in gaps, until enough inconsistencies point to one thing:
Rust is lying.
And so Marty must investigate for himself the details of what really happened back then, even as it steadily becomes impossible for him to remain outside of the story.
Alternatively, a prequel AU to this fic during which Marty meets Rust while he is institutionalized.

Past him, from behind the bar, there is Carlos Reyes; a heart of gold raised in the cold arms of law enforcement. The stage lights follow T.K. Strand, the music suited to every move of his body, the scent of sex masking a broken heart and years of rehab. To his side, where eyes are guaranteed to track the lines of muscle, there is Evan ('Buck') Buckley; a risk-taker with connections to the owner of the club.
With all four under the roof of Station 118, where morals die and sex sells, sparks are sure to ignite.
