In the Oletus manor, things are not as they seem, and nothing - including happiness and secrets - can ever remain the same. Happiness rarely stays, and secrets are never kept silent.
It’s fine for survivors and hunters to be friends, but not for them to love each other - this is an unspoken rule.
And there are consequences for offending this.
…what was the good of loving someone, if loving someone made you hurt the one you loved?
But Aesop hadn’t realised one thing: loving someone wasn’t something you could choose to do, but something you couldn’t stop yourself from doing.
