In hindsight, Ilya should have known that the Hollanders being 'perfect' parents was too good to be true.

    Summary

“They are so pretty. Pretty freckles on pretty boy and I want….”

Shane can’t breathe. Holy fuck he can’t breathe, every fucking fantasy he’s had since he was seventeen is right in front of him and he doesn’t know what to do.

“What…” licks his lips and watches as Rozanov leans forward, like he can’t help but try to be closer, “What do you want?”

A smile, slow and wicked, sharp canines that Shane wants at his throat.

“I told you, to be boyfriend.”

Or: In a world where there was no CCM hookup and they're just rivals, Shane has come out as gay, and Ilya isn't going to let that opportunity pass him by, leading Shane to a journey of discovering self-worth, fighting shitty team dynamics, winning the Stanley Cup, autistic meltdowns and maybe even leaving Montreal.

Hayden took a bite, chewed pensively, then asked, “So, where are you going?”

Shane felt his lips twitch into a small smile. “New York.”
    ---
OR: Instead of Ilya moving to Ottawa, Shane moves to New York. Now that he's playing with Scott Hunter, Shane finds himself more involved in the queer scene and on the fast-track to another MLH Cup final. Since he stays in Boston, Ilya's still at the top of his game, setting records as he leads his team straight through the playoffs. What happens when being closer together, means their rivalry is stronger than ever?

Of any reaction Shane expected, it wasn't this.

Actually, Yuna does have a problem. Not just with Rozanov, but with the whole thing.
