Summary
Although appearing to the naked eye as a single point of light, Polaris is a triple star system, in which the closer companion star is extremely close to the main star. Buck was only 18 when his whole life changed for the better. He ran away from home with the love of his life, had twins– a boy and a girl, and made a life for himself that he thought he would never get. Until his high school sweetheart dies of cancer, leaving Buck to pack up his things, along with the twins, and move to LA. Little did he know that the move would impact their lives forever.

Summary
Buck has been back with the 118 for a month now and he is still being treated like an outsider. He has been going days without anyone talking to him or even acknowledging him. Loneness is become all he knows. On one of his shifts where he is once again man-behind Buck gets a phone call he never expected, and it brings back people from his life he thought he would never see again.

Eddie get lost in the blue of his best friend’s eyes for a moment. “But we could have this. I could… I could give you this.”
He can literally sees the thousands of different thoughts swirling around in Buck’s brain through his eyes. He stares at Eddie intensely, almost too calm – Eddie’s never seen Buck this calm before – and then he sees the moment something click in his best friend’s mind, sees the moment the decision is made and he says, “A family. Us.”
The lump in Eddie’s throat is still there, heavy and strong, and he nod his head before he answers. “Us. Together.”
Buck smile at him then, a small and private one that Eddie can’t help but share with him. “Alright, Diaz,” he says softly. “Let’s have a baby together then.”

Summary
Buck had finally understood... it had taken him 3 months, 3 months of silences and angry looks, of orders given coldly and endless lists of tasks at the station, of people leaving when he sat down at the table, of conversations stopping when he arrived.
3 months but he had finally understood: Station 118 did not forgive and those he had fought for had turned their backs on him.
3 months but it had become clear to him: he was not welcome there and that was not his family, it never had been.And now all that was left was to let go.
But a call and a girl who reminds him too much of himself could be the solution to the cold in his life and his heart.
