And yes for the first posting it's gonna be my current obsession until I think of something. So this is based during SB (Stormblood) when the WoL is fighting in the Naadam in the Azim Steppe.

When the SM-13 is brought up to install a spearhead to collect samples, Lieutenant Y/N requests to be sent down with the convict. Her seething hatred of the man leads her to become irrational as she traps herself in the Iron Lung with him. Despite her fragile status and mounting anxiety, she is determined to kill the convict who took so much from her. The clock is ticking; only time will tell how well they’ll hold up trapped in the silent prison alone.

"STAY BACK!” Drifter yelled, as they threw Eleanor and Arthur back with a wave of power, their voice rough from coughing but there was an otherworldly, metallic toned aspect layered over-top it that made all of the hairs on Arthur’s neck stand up.
Drifter gets infected after a particularly nasty wound. How far are the Hex willing to go to save them? And can Arthur save him from himself?

He scrunches his eyes to fight off the salt already burning deep up his nose, threatening to flood his whole body as he sinks, sinks…
He could swim up, but he doesn’t. He could be scared, but he isn’t. He’s resigned to die. To be buried in the cold, dark ocean, and become one of the many forgotten things that call it their tomb.
He’s sinking, deeper and deeper, feeling his body go stiff as the icy darkness wraps around his limbs.
The last blue light of the surface has abandoned him.
And he can’t be sad, can he? He knows that he chose this, after all. Even if he can’t remember it. Even if the tiniest inkling of regret is creeping up on him with each bit of light lost.

Summary
Urizen decides to investigate after his instincts pull him towards a recovering Nero. He takes said Nero to the growing tree, deciding that leaving a defenseless nestling that is clearly his alone with humans was a bad idea.
AKA- an AU where the author fucks up lore, time, and the solidity of the story for the sake of instinctual Urizen brainrot.
AKA- Urizen being a little more demon instinct headcanon-y, Nero being held captive by Urizen (from Nero’s perspective, at least), and everyone else being a bit slower to beat Urizen as a result.

This was their future, if Marty’s very hasty and sporting gaping holes story was anything to go by.

It wasn't just Drifter sent back to 1999. Umbra was taken along for the ride too as back up that Drifter can rely on... too bad it didn't change anything on that disastrous New Years Eve, but it sure adds some new and interesting dynamics amongst the Hex while they wait out the timeloop.
