Summary
“In a way.” Ezio pauses, then rolls over to face Leonardo and sits up on one arm. “I spoke to a priest. Another one, sympathetic to my cause like you suggested, and yet, I left his church more confused than when I stepped inside.”
“Why not go to him for confession?”
Ezio shrugs, unable to meet Leonardo’s eyes. “I…don’t know. It is hard to say. I suppose I don’t know him well enough, and yet, I know him too well all the same. Confessing to him would feel wrong, somehow. He is too pure, even though he insists that he is far from sinless.”
Leonardo studies Ezio for a moment, that little crease between his brows reappearing. “Ezio, do you wish for someone with a soul just as damned as your own to hear you?”

Summary
When a Venetian nobleman’s commission turns out to be more than just a standard portrait, Leonardo has little choice but to accept Ezio’s help in modeling for the painting.
No, this wasn’t romance… but the line was blurring with every moment, and neither of them seemed willing to admit it. So Leonardo used touch and scent and taste, each a formidable weapon, thrusting them into the place where tender words were meant to go – deep into the heart of the matter they were afraid to speak of.

How many years had they danced this waltz now without knowing it? How many more years would it take before one of them would bend like a performer mid concierto, deft and illustrious? They were both too stubborn, too proud to go back on their word now.
Too scared. It was so easy to lose everything they had.
A waltz of sentimentality, indeed.
[A retelling spanning many years from the events of Carnevale onwards to the end of the Borgia, detailing the ever developing relationship of Ezio and Leonardo.]
