Sanji kept his eyes on the deck the whole time, and closed them as Judge finished and he felt the others’ eyes upon him at his front. He restrained himself from lifting his hand to touch the gunshot wound on his arm. No satisfaction for Judge with any reaction. He just breathed in the smoke of his cigarette, letting the nicotine burn his throat and overtake the other burning that was flaring throughout his body.

Crosshair’s eyes narrowed. Hunter had always been good at hiding injuries—it was a common problem they faced during the war—and it seemed he had only gotten better since adding Omega to the family. Crosshair wasn’t even sure this was an injury, but something was definitely off. That kind of sound wouldn’t usually make him so… jumpy.
Maybe it was like Crosshair’s tremor, something physical that was connected to trauma he had endured. Maybe it was unhealed grief at the fact a table that should have fit six was only being occupied by four. Crosshair didn’t have a clue.
