Summary
Kenner and Murata get kidnapped, then poisoned, and Chris is playing hero again. Things go downhill from there.
“You're my partner, Chris.” Johnny shook his head dejectedly. “At least you were till today.”
“Yeah, well, you are my partner too,” Kenner's voice dropped, notes of steel cutting through the air like a katana. “Ever think of that? One of us had to make it out of there alive. And if I gave you half the dose like you suggested, chances were we'd both drop dead. I wasn't gonna let that happen.”
Johnny was about to launch into another tirade when Kenner interrupted him: “And no, I don't regret my decision. If I could do it all again, I wouldn't change a God damn thing.”
He looked him dead in the eye. “Clearly, you cannot handle that, so...”
Kenner drifted off, and this time Johnny butted in: “So what, you thought ditching me would be the next logical step?”
Kenner shrugged, and Johnny's anger returned, twice as strong. He marched toward his partner, forcing him to retreat till his back was pressed against the wall.

Soulmate AU where if you reject your soulmate to their face, they slowly deteriorate and die
“My dear Vivi,” Sanji began cautiously, “love doesn't take breaks. It comes and sweeps you off your feet,” he continued wistfully. “There's no planning for it.”
“You should know,” Zoro snorted. “You fall in love with every woman you see.”
“Tsk, shut up, mosshead,” Sanji snapped at him. “Any normal person would rather die than have you as their soulmate,” he added, venom dripping down his every word.
An uncomfortable silence fell over the table. Usopp's eyes were wide as saucers, but he didn't dare open his mouth. Nami and Vivi shared a concerned look, and even Luffy stopped devouring another helping of fried rice he had stolen mere seconds ago. Zoro had yet to say something, too, maintaining a weird eye-staring contest he and Sanji locked in from time to time.

Jonathan doesn't allow Teddy to die like that, and they escape into a hopeful unknown future together
Shots were fired, and Teddy found himself falling to the ground. There was no pain or impact of the wound, only a harsh thudding noise as his body collided with the land, knocking his breath out of him. All hell broke loose around him, and he realized with a start that he remained alive, and there were hands on him now, urging him to get on his feet and run away, as far as possible. He squinted in the dark, trying to locate Jonathan; his legs were slipping on the wet grass as he was yanked upwards.
“Teddy, let's go, we have to go, now!” Jonathan, for it couldn't be anyone else, cried frantically, the palm of his right hand pressing on his wounded left arm, blood staining the already dirty fabric of his t-shirt.

Summary
Or, Sanji has a drunken epiphany, gets wasted, and Zoro has to kiss some stupid ideas right out of him. Not necessarily in that order.
“Oi, you're the one to talk.” Sanji winces in annoyance. “Why are you even here?”
“Couldn't resist keeping you company,” Zoro seasons the truth with his own healthy portion of sarcasm.
“You sure there isn't some other company you'd prefer tonight?” Sanji's tone is clipped, his expression guarded.
“What's that supposed to mean?” Zoro asks, the frown on his face deepening. The cook is acting weird. He doesn't like it.
“I'll let you get back to it. Don't want to keep anyone waiting.” Now he sounds genuinely upset. And Zoro still has no clue what's going on.
Some of his confusion must be written on his face, for the cook sighs tiredly and admits: “I know, mosshead.”
“Know what?” Zoro is tired of his evasiveness. He peels himself off the door and takes a step toward Sanji.
“Are you gonna make me say it?” The cook has the audacity to sound exasperated, too.

Summary
Johnny runs into an old friend, pretends to have a girlfriend, and gets injured. Things spiral out of control after that.
“So, Johnny-boy, there is no Minako, is there?” He treaded lightly.
“What do you mean?” Johnny asked, surprise coloring his tone.
“I mean, maybe the girl does exist, but she's not your girlfriend,” Sam clarified.
“Of course she exists, I told you she just couldn't be here tonight, remember?” Johnny insisted, a bit awkwardly.
“So it's just a coincidence that everything you've told me about her so far: her Japanese origin, knowledge of Bushido, which, in hindsight, I should have clocked sooner, sharp mind, and wicked sense of humor, applies remarkably well to your partner Chris?” Sam raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
