My father is Anakin Skywalker, Luke thinks automatically. It’s trained into him through years of having only that as his one connection to his parents.
“How…” Luke gasps. The rest of his sentence is taken over by his heaving lungs. The air’s just a little too thin up here.
Given that his head is spinning so hard from the past several minutes that he’s on the verge of blacking out, and he’s never quite seen the Emperor’s feared commander as a human capable of reproduction, Luke thinks his following mistake is entirely justified.
“…could you kill your husband?!” Luke yells.

Three short months later Bucky Barnes, wearing a borrowed uniform and holding onto a shield he didn’t feel worthy of, crashed the Valkyrie into the arctic to save his home.Not wanting to admit that Captain America died twice on their watch, the officials in the know covered it up. The man who sacrificed himself to destroy Hydra was Captain America. He always had been.
Bucky Barnes wakes seventy years later to a world that remembers him as a hero, and doesn’t remember Steve Rogers at all. He decides to set the record straight.
