Summary
Beomgyu has a propensity for ruining everything good in his life. He tells himself he’s just beating it to the punch. Kill it before it kills you, right? But as soon as Yeonjun leaves, he wants him to come back. He’s never, ever wanted Yeonjun gone, and yet he can’t stop pushing when he means to say I need you.
It wasn’t always like this. He wants to go back. Back to late nights and cramming in a twin-sized bed and fearing the future instead of living it. It wasn’t always like this.

It hurt to hear, but Yeonjun knew it was the truth.
Their history seemed to complicate a lot of things.
But he thought about Beomgyu—of toothy grins and shining eyes and hushed whispers of reassurance. Of teasing jabs and thoughtful just because gifts and guitar chords being strummed into the quiet of the night.
And he knew he’d always take complicated; if that meant having Beomgyu close to him.
He’d do his best to fix the complications, to make things easier for Beomgyu. He didn’t want to be part of any hurt he experienced, ever again.
To start—he knew he had to tell him the truth.
He just hoped he could find the words.
while I guess you could attempt to read this as a standalone, there will a lot missing and it’ll be quite confusing if you haven’t read my first work, unknown/nth. read that first, then come back here for yeonjun’s pov of scenes from that story, as well as a few bonus moments ;)

Summary
For a long time now, he has dealt with this thing while being Choi Beomgyu of Tomorrow x Together. Which, arguably, has made dealing with it a million times harder than it would’ve been if he was always just Choi Beomgyu, plain and simple. Yet even on the days that dealing with it feels like everything in his world is crashing down around him, he still doesn’t regret it, and he still can’t bring himself to let it go. It’s part of him.
For a long time now, he has gotten up every day as Choi Beomgyu of Tomorrow x Together. Or just, Beomgyu. And for a long time now, he has gotten up every day, a fool for Choi Yeonjun.

“Beomgyu,” Yeonjun says, hard. He wraps an arm tighter around the younger’s neck, the other hand coming to ruffle up his hair every which way. “You’re fucking hot. If anything, he probably saw you now and regretted his whole life up to this point. Probably thought, shit, I messed up. Look how smoking hot my ex is now.”
The younger throws a light fist on Yeonjun’s chest, trying to get him to let up on his hair. “Shut up, hyung, you’re just saying that.”
“It’s true. It’s so true. I’m proud I get to be your boyfriend and make him jealous.”
Well. Pretend-boyfriend.
When Beomgyu sees his ex with someone new at a beach house party, he convinces Yeonjun to pose as his fake boyfriend in order to outdo the couple. What isn't planned, though, is how they'll maintain the lie around their friends for the remainder of the trip - or between themselves.
