One of the occupational hazards of their night-jobs is, unfortunately, dimension bullshit and time bullshit. Jason nor Roy is a stranger to it, but prolonged exposure does not make one fond. Especially not when it just keeps causing headaches to the point that whenever a colleague dies everyone should start planning for potential resurrection.
The thing is… Jason is alive. This dimension has a Jason and he is sitting right here, next to his partner, right across from his grave.

Summary
The first time he meets the Red Hood it isn't on Roy's payroll. Which is good because despite his very successful crime empire, Roy is sure he could never afford it. Instead he got a very expensive front row seat to the gruesome massacre of a much hated rival and intended future business partner. A precise massacre. Not even a hair on any of Roy's peoples heads is harmed.
Hood is confident and cocky and he pushes Roy against a wall with a blade under his chin to tilt his head back. Forcing him to meet the black nothingness under the hood in the eye. "Don't be next," a low rumble of a voice commands. Roy nearly wants to be anyway.

It pulls a little where the shoulder of his suit is pinned to the door, but taking the shuriken out would be some form of admitting defeat. "Should 'don't have sex with villains' be the obvious thing here?" He is far past whispered arguments at this point but he is also a little past caring.
Roy throws his hands in the air. "Oh does the pot's son now call the kettle black? How many of your rogues has batman slept with now? Because my score is only one." Dick opens his mouth, but Roy is quicker. "And that was Cheshire, because Hood does not count because he is not my rogue."
