Yet, behind some bushes, in the far corner were 2 people matted with ash and blood caked to just about everything. More surprisingly they were spooning? They just screamed trouble, and Kakashi knew that this would call upon his Jounin responsibility. Kakashi just wants to rest.
Or every time travel fic where Naruto and Gaara cause chaos and protect what’s theirs. While not dealing with the Leafs bullshit. Que traumatic flashback and everyone is so confused. Ugh life is so hard.

Team Seven always had a way of surpassing expectations. These three would be no different. Kakashi would make sure of that.

A couple times he still second guessed himself. Wondered if it would be better to fail the team and let whatever happens to them happen.
But every time he saw the photo of his old team, he remembered why he couldn’t.
He couldn’t let that happen to them. This system had already screwed them over. The people who were supposed to care for them had done the opposite.
Kakashi wasn’t going to be another adult who let these kids down.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. And maybe I’ll only make things worse…” Kakashi murmured softly to the framed photo at his bedside. “…But I have to try.”
He had to. Or these pups were as good as dead.
OR: Kakashi realizes how bullshit it is that Team Seven was even a team in the first place, and does things differently. Screw Hiruzen for putting him in this position.

And he went ahead with the brilliant idea of saddling him with his dead sensei’s son, Itachi’s little brother, and a kunoichi who was so much a cannon fodder that she had a literal target on her bright red dress.
He would not be blamed for the shitshow that was about to start.

Kakashi only knows how to teach three things: survival, assassination, and pretending to be normal. Good thing that's exactly what his cute little genins need to learn. And if they also learned how to be a family in the process, well, that's just a bonus.
