He does turn to look at the stage, then, and he sees Rozanov’s feral grin between the cymbals, their metallic shine matching the glint in his eyes. He looks golden as ever, his dirty blonde curls soaked with sweat, darkened and flattened against his head. He watches Rozanov’s wrists flick around the kit and remembers that those fast-flying hands had once flown right into his face.
