I can’t believe I didn’t bookmark this when I first finished reading it, this is my favourite interpretation of what Jayce and Viktor might’ve been up to in the alternate world. Slowly working through the rest of the series now because THERES A REST IF THE SERIES!!!! I’m especially hyped about the last one because the whole time I was reading this I was thinking “man it’d be so cool to read about these versions of the characters and form their povs” and then THEY WROTE THAT!!!!!!!! God I love this so much. Cried when Viktor died, almost cried again at the end. Love how it starts with Viktor’s first appearance and ends with Jayce’s - love the idea of the two of them being out of sync but still finding the different moments of each other through it all. This was really beautiful, should probably reread at some point.

After the attack on the council, Viktor is brought back with the Hexcore but everything feels… wrong. His body is steadily changing against his will and it’s only a matter of time before Viktor loses everything that makes him human. Outraged at Jayce for bringing him back and using Hextech to make weapons, he returns to the Undercity to try to do good, as he had always intended.
He fails.

That’s the end?!??? THAT’S the end??!!??! That’s IT?!!?? Jesus wept this wrecked me. Genuinely. Read up to Viktor’s transformation a couple weeks ago then genuinely couldn’t keep reading because it was fucking with me so hard, came back to finish it today after thinking about it almost non-stop and my god. Fuck you man, in the best way possible. This is painful and horrific and so so good in so many ways that I wish I was capable of being more articulate about if only I could find the words :,|

Great fic!! Jinx and Viktor in this remind me too much of me and my sister. They’re not even a prominent part of this fic, but still, that chapter rung so true for me. Also love Viktor and Ekko and their relationship - they literally never interacted ONCE in cannon, why do they always work so well together in fics???

Crazy poetic, deeply angsty. SO MUCH HAPPENS it felt like so much longer than just 27k, in a good way!! None of it felt rushed. Love Tlon - every time I start a Tlon fic I’m like “not going to end up bookmarking this one, can’t have every fic of theirs be a standout fic” and every time I’m proven wrong.

Even if their partnership survives Viktor confessing a feeling Jayce doesn’t have, things would change. Better they stay like this — enough affection to keep Viktor from going elsewhere, never nearly as much as he wants, all taken in a way Jayce doesn’t intend.

Left alone on New Year’s Eve, Viktor takes a trip back to the undercity. But going home again is much harder than leaving — and it hurts so much worse. At least he might finally admit some feelings to his partner at the end of it.

Started reading this half as a joke, half as a sort of “ah what the fuck, beggars can’t be choosers” kinda move, fully expecting this to be godawful bullshit. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I ended up having a good solid laugh reading the first chapter, then binging the whole thing in like an evening and a half and even finding myself having a little cry by the end. This was great, I couldn’t understand Jesse/Saul before reading this but now I’m converted

It's not the way his eyes glaze over at seemingly innocent parts of his story, or the strange amount of affection he describes between them, or even the fact that he talks about trips in that goddamn RV the way he’s heard some guys talk about prison showers.
