Sasha couldn’t say she didn’t think her boss was hot. In fact, she hadn’t met anyone who would think the opposite. And how could they? He had the most gorgeous blond locks falling down his shoulders, a jawline that could cut you by even looking at it and eyes so blue you got sucked into them if you looked too closely. And his waist. Sasha had never in her life seen a man with such a small delicate waist as Mr. Lioncourt. Hell, she wondered if she’d ever seen a woman with a waist like that.
So, naturally, Sasha should love that guy, right? Should eagerly await him passing by her in the hall or seeing him in the break room, should seek out conversation with him. Well, no. Because of the teeny tiny fact about Mr. Lioncourt that she had come to find out approximately ten seconds after meeting him. Mr. Lioncourt was a monster.

But if it does, then Louis will spend his immortal life taking care of his son. How could he ever see him as anything but this tiny baby, sleeping safe and secure in his daddy’s arms while his maman gets some rest, his sister downstairs and eager for the chance to meet him properly.
“I’ll look after you,” he says again. “And your Maman. And your sister. I’ll look after you all, I promise.”

Summary
Akasha tried to take Louis’ heart at the final showdown, and Lestat put his own in her path.
It should be the end.
But Louis has spent too much of their immortal life believing there would always be more time. Another night, another chance, another moment to say what he should have said decades ago. He won’t make that mistake again.
His maker lies silent in his arms, his heart destroyed beyond even a vampire’s ability to heal. Everyone else can’t help but suspect it is indeed the end.
Louis can still feel the thread between them. Lestat gave him eternity once, and now Louis means to return the favor.
So death will have to try a little fucking harder.
