Summary
”Imogen, when’s the last time you ate?” Laudna asks.
”Can’t keep anything down,” she admits, though does not say that the last time she tried was over a week ago. “Bread, tea, water, doesn’t matter.”
“I didn’t mean food,” Laudna says, and Imogen wants her to stop talking, Imogen no longer wants to listen to her lovely, rolling voice. “I meant blood.”
—
Imogen, cursed with magic she does not understand, continues a spectacularly poor run of luck and gains a second curse for her troubles. But is it really a curse if it saves her life? Is it really bad luck if it leads her to Laudna?

Summary
“You would think,” Laudna says, with prim condescension, which tells Imogen exactly how aggrieved she is, “that professional athletes, at the Olympics, the Olympics, Imogen, would be able to throw a fucking stone.” She looks to the television, sees easy movement, gentle voices, cool whites that seem pretty soothing. The mess of Laudna’s hair suggests otherwise; Imogen is uncertain why curling would be so enraging.
She says, “Is it… not going well?”

Summary
“I thought, you know, that because it was all over, Predathos and the dreams and— Laudna, I have so much control over it now, the voices and the magic, and I have the circlet. I really thought with the circlet— I thought that if I wasn’t in his head, that if he knew I wasn’t in his head, then maybe— Then maybe.” She doesn’t mean for her voice to sound so hollow. She doesn’t feel hollow, feels like it might all climb up her throat and spill out no matter what she does.

Summary
Only once have you felt your broken body so thoroughly deny you and even then, with the rope tight around your throat, you had at least been able to weep, to scream. Your body kneels, staggers. It fights for breath it does not need.
You had not thought it possible to grow colder, a chill that seeps from your soul and finds nowhere to go. Quietly, shakily, you whisper, Delilah? It falls not from your lips, but from your mind. You have never wanted an answer less.
-
In the quiet dark of the Parchwood, Delilah takes control. Bells Hells do not notice.

Summary
Casting helped distract from the memory of Laudna’s eyes looking at her in confusion, from Laudna, dreadful in her murderer’s mourning veil, from the smooth skin between her ribs where there should have been a jagged scar.
Imogen didn’t know where she was. She had to focus on the where of it all, couldn’t contemplate the nagging fear that where should not be her greatest concern. She didn’t think about the unstable marvel of Ashton’s brain. She didn’t think about her body moving out of time with itself. To even consider it was impossible.
-
Imogen falls through a hole in the world and finds herself trapped with a wife who doesn’t know her, a future imperilled, and no way to get home. A time travel AU.

Summary
It starts with a fencepost.
Well, technically speaking, it starts with the day Laudna arrives in Yios after a long, rambling trek through the Smouldercrown Mountains. One could say that it begins with the sand from the Rumedam Desert still lining the creases of her eyelids. Certainly, one could argue that it starts with the moment she catches sight of the beautiful, endless lake, the city in its midst nothing so much as a vast, bright smudge. If one were to be picky, one might say it starts with an attic apartment sitting empty, or perhaps with a needle and thread.
But really, it starts with the fencepost, and Pâté is the one to realize this first.

Summary
It would be delusional to think that she’d somehow awakened Laudna’s sexuality from across two walls and twenty feet of grass and pavement. All they’ve done is make dinner together in separate kitchens at three in the morning and send a stupid number of texts. All she is is a neighbor. And they've never even met.
She sends the picture anyway.

Summary
The girl, barred from scattering along with the animals by the unwieldy human shape of her, is lying flat and still on the ground with her face pressed in the cold mud, straining her neck to keep watching the torchbearers. She probably isn’t thinking of the fact that she can’t hide from the forest itself as it watches and waits. It doesn’t know why two of its black eyes can’t leave this girl—perhaps because somewhere it hopes she stays right where she is, pressed against its ground.
The woods find a girl on the run, and it sends its very best monster after her.

Summary
“Fine!” she says. “All right, fine, if you’ll stop fucking talking and let me answer! It’s just that—well, what if she—I think that she—Ashton, what if she, what if she wants one of these?”
“A hat?”
Laudna throws it at him. “A wedding, you absolute monster.”
“Uh.” Ashton looks more amused than anything else, really; it’s insulting. They pick up the hat and put it back on her head. “Honestly? I’m pretty sure she’d just tell you?”
“That’s the problem,” Laudna wails, and she throws herself down into a disconsolate pile of knob-ended bones.Or: Lieve’tel married Laudna and Imogen, more or less. Right? Now, though, the Hells are enjoying a beach vacation for Jester’s wedding. And Laudna is panicking.
