Summary
Through the carnage came a figure cloaked in shadow, she appeared to move through the bodies rather than step on top of them. Even standing somewhere around seven or eight feet tall, she was far too humanoid to be a foe, they had long since abandoned their ruse of playing at humanity. She wore a cloak that appeared to dissipate and knit together like threads of smoke, the gossamer threads like the grey of a new dawn. Under the hood, he could only just make out her eyes, a clouded sky blue, pupils, and her gaze unending.
She stopped before him, their eyes meeting through his tears. There was no empathy in her gaze, only his own agony reflected back at him, though her hand was light as a soft breeze as she tipped his chin up.
“Please,” Dick said, even though he didn’t know what he was asking for: release, mercy, death.
“You long to go back.”
“Yes.”
“For a different outcome.”
Dick nearly choked on the word, “yes.”
“I can make it so. I can give you the gift of foresight, but I warn you, it comes at great sacrifice as it does for anyone else who it is bestowed upon.”
Dick Grayson may not be able to change everything, but my god, is he going to try.

Sam stares at him. “Unbelievable,” he breathes, scrunching his face up in distaste. When Dean glares at him, he holds his hands up defensively and chuckles weakly. “Sorry, man, but that just sounds pretty lame.” He leans back and folds his arms. “It just…I dunno. Kinda sounds like something Chuck would cook up. Just you and me. No one else. I mean, really?” He scoffs, slumping.

Time moves differently there, the space ever-changing to make a prison of mountains, cathedrals, salt flats, orchards, and whatever Castiel was led to believe about Heaven’s greatest weapon—Dean Winchester is something entirely unexpected.

Summary
Dean’s favourite coffee shop, The Graveyard Shift, is only open after the sun goes down. Which is perfect for him, because that’s exactly when he craves coffee the most while doing the overnight at the fire hall. The coffee shop’s owner is pretty perfect too, but it’s kind of a bummer that Dean never gets to see Cas during the day. In a world where the supernatural live more or less in peace with the rest of humanity, it’s a little impolite to ask Cas just what he really is - or what his dark past entails.

Dean can't allow himself the luxury of getting attached.
So when he spends the best night of his life with a man who calls himself Emmanuel, he knows right away that nothing more will ever come of it. It doesn't even matter that Dean's unable to really forget the guy many weeks and months later, that is just the life.
But then Sam ends up cursed on a hunt and after a long and ultimately futile search they find themselves with only one option left to save him: the healing abilities of an angel.
Namely, the Fallen One.
Castiel.
Dean's never heard of the guy before, but if he's really capable of curing his brother, so be it.
He is in for a rather big surprise, though, when he suddenly sees himself confronted with a very familiar face and soon enough his life is turned upside down in a fairly inconvenient manner.

(In which Dean realizes he slept with an angel of the freaking Lord, has a major freak-out about it, and then, to his own chagrin, can't stop thinking about doing it all over again as he and his cursed brother end up cohabiting with the angel in question.)

Dean was a dead man walking. He had eight months before the hellhounds would drag him to the pit because he had saved his brother’s soul and he was actually getting used to the idea. Sure, he was terrified, but what was knew about that? Sam, of course, couldn’t leave it alone, but so far all his attempts had been futile.
But then he found a footnote in their father’s journal, and it brought back memories Dean tried hard to forget. He had sworn to himself four years ago that he would get over Castiel Novak with his disturbingly awesome scent, shy smile and brilliant blue eyes. But now Cas could be the only one who could save him from Perdition and he was probably the last person who wanted to see Dean again. Right?
