Hermione wheezed from her place on the stone floor. There was pain etched into every fresh bruise on her body. Her face, neck, and stomach throbbed incessantly and she’d resorted to breathing through her mouth, quite certain that her nose was broken.
He’d been enraged when she bucked hard enough to destroy the amortentia. He’d already seemed like he was on the brink, but then his composure had fractured.
It was the worst beating he’d given her since he’d taken her months ago.
