Daemon looked up when Rhaenyra walked in the room. Six years had passed since the last time he had seen her. Six years since the night they had spent together. A night they had both told themselves is a onetime thing and would never be repeated again. The night before Rhaenyra moved to London to work there. Six years and he still remembered this night as if it had been yesterday. He remembered her smile against his lips, her little moans as he kissed on her neck, her panting when he moved lower. He remembered everything about this woman. But he had let her go; knowing that no matter how much he wanted to keep her, she wasn’t truly his to keep. She was his niece and that’s all she could ever be. He couldn’t wrap her in his life. He had two girls to take care of and no matter how much he wanted her in his life, he couldn’t do that. She had been too young, her life ahead. He couldn’t force her to be a mother to his children no matter how much she adored them. That’s how he had justified letting her go all these years.
