“Will, we went to high school together.” Nico punctuates his statement by pivot turning, his boots squeaking, and puking his guts into the sink.
Will and Nico had a passionate, two month relationship at fourteen, but it all fell apart into violent hatred when Nico stood Will up at the homecoming dance and then disappeared after winter break. Thirteen years later, Will is a doctor and Nico has a masters in social work, and they keep running into each other at their most embarrassing moments.

“For this early in the morning?” Will chuckled, though his smile broke into a groan as he popped his back. “Gods, that hurt.”
“Scoliosis at seventeen.” Nico’s tone was droll. “How’s it feel?”
“Wonderful. Me and my boyfriend match now.”

Will looked at him back, smiling. You're the sun, Nico thought again, cause his smile was enough to make the day start over again, with a beautiful, golden morning.
"I kinda like you, di Angelo. And I know you kinda like me too, even if you don't say it”, Will said, his fingers brushing Nico’s hand.
Nico didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t formulate a sentence to say. So he decided there are things words can’t express, and so he leaned in and kissed Will Solace.
And when Will kissed him back, he felt like he wouldn’t have to run away ever again.

Will wakes up with a weight on his chest. A person, actually. Nico’s hair is pressed to his lips and tickling his neck but he smiles into the mess of it, inhaling deeply. Will tightens his arms around Nico, who is fully laying on top of him. In his sleep, the raven hums and seems to settle even deeper into his boyfriend. Will’s chest swells and it takes all of his self control to not wake Nico with a flurry of reverent kisses to his face.

It took Nico a moment to understand what that meant. One of them would sleep on the floor or, he gulped, or they would both sleep on the bed. Next to each other. Together. All night. Will, who was warm and smelled like the strawberry hand soap from the infirmary and the mint tea he drank every morning, would be beside him all night long. His knees suddenly felt like they were going to buckle. “Okay,” he said weakly.
