Buck had no idea how long they danced. He just knew the music kept playing, and Eddie kept smiling at him like he was the only person in the room. Until, without warning, Eddie stopped moving and just looked at him.
"Buck." He breathed out.
"Yeah?" Buck's breath hitched.
"You're my best friend." Eddie said, voice quieter now. "You know that, right?"
"Yeah." Buck swallowed, his hand still on Eddie's waist. "I know."
"I'd be lost without you." Eddie's fingers curled slightly tighter around his.
The music blurred, bodies moving around them, but they didn't move.
"You're not lost, Eddie." Buck's heart was in his throat.
"Maybe not when you're around." Eddie murmured.
There was something in his eyes, something raw and unguarded. Something Buck wasn't sure either of them was ready to say out loud. So he didn't say anything. He just kept holding on.
