When Danny died at 12, he never thought that he would ever get the chance to be normal. Defeating the Ghost King was cool but didn't help with the whole 'normal kid' thing.
But a full ride scholarship for Gotham Academy with a chance later on for full ride to the University? Maybe, Just maybe he could be normal? If only for a little while.

Summary
Billy Batson has been taking care of himself for a couple of years now and feels like he's doing pretty well at it. Sure, the foster families he's been stuck with whenever CPS catches him have been uniformly disappointing. And the Captain Marvel part of his life keeps creeping into more and more of his Billy Batson time. But overall, things are great! If only he hadn't had a little accident and wound up in the hospital just when some guy from Gotham who thinks he's Billy's father came looking for him, he'd be fine. And isn't that timing just a little bit suspicious? Sure, CPS seems to believe the man's story, but they don't have the best track record for placing Billy in safe homes. At least he knows how to make portals now. No one can keep him where he doesn't want to be!
Meanwhile, Bruce and Alfred are extremely pleased to have such a pleasant, polite child join the family. Except that he keeps winding up back in Fawcett City, and they can’t figure out how.- Language:
