Summary
This game was the reason the cold knot in her belly now felt like fear. And being afraid, her mother had once told her, as she’d buckled her first practice sword, is the only time you can ever truly be brave.

Summary
“To be shinobi is to endure.”
The only reason Ono Toshiko thought she survived her consciousness waking in her third life was because she had those words ringing in her head.
The thought of having to start all over again every time she died, of being denied the peace of an afterlife, was a horrific one. Forging new bonds and finding new loves in each life only to lose them one after another. Being eternally ground down by life and loss. Forever denied her rest.
Still, she’d been raised a shinobi in her second life - and no one could say she hadn’t been an excellent one.
She would endure.
And perhaps, in this third go-around, maybe hang on until she died of old age.
You know.
For once.
The irony, when she realized where and when she’d been reborn, and as who, did not escape her.
