Jax chuckled. "You really think I'd ever let you leave my sight?" he said, a grin spreading across his face.
"I mean, seriously, after everything we've been through, you expect me to just forget about all of that?" he asked, grin widening.
Pomni swallowed, her heart pounding against her ribs.
Jax slowly leaned back, still blocking the door. "I'd rather let this whole circus burn than to still watch you with her," he said, his voice a low hiss. "I know you still love me."
Pomni's frown deepened. "I don't believe you, Jax!" she argued, her voice a strained, trembling plea.
He leaned in. "How many times do I have to remind you? You're mine."
"Jax, you can't do this to me," she said, her voice broken and slightly uneven.
"You know how I feel about her," he snarled. "That makes me fucking crazy. How you look at her-fucking-look at me!" he barked.
"Jax, you can't erase what I saw!" she argued, her eyes slightly glossy with unshed tears.
"And you think that matters now?" he asked, his voice a mocking purr.
