Summary
“I don’t know,” He finds himself staring at another picture. Max is laughing brightly, to the point where his eyes are crinkled, and his mother is smiling too. There is a navy cap on her head: it is a Red Bull cap. Max’s Red Bull cap. “It’s just hard to imagine, I think.”
Pascale looks at him. For a moment it is an odd look. But that quickly melts into a smile. One that is gentle around the eyes, and soft on the mouth. Somehow, it makes Charles feel young again — younger than how he already feels; twenty-one in a world where he is twenty-five.
“You don’t have to imagine it, mon garçon,” she says quietly. “It has already happened.”
Or,
The last thing Charles remembers is the 2019 Austrian Grand Prix.

Summary
“You… don’t know who I am.”
Daniel’s eyebrow is back to being raised.
“Should I?”
“I am Max Verstappen.” God, he feels like an idiot explaining himself like this.
When that doesn’t seem to stir anything in Daniel he goes on. “I am Formula 1 World Champion.”
“Oh. Congrats I guess?”

Summary
If Auston is stung by how Mitch very purposefully keeps himself to himself now, he doesn't say. It isn't something mourned or missed.
He's probably relieved, Mitch thinks, and deletes the text asking Auston over he'd been about to send. They've spent a solid chunk of time together at practice. It'd be overkill to push for more, even if he's suddenly struck by how too-big and empty his apartment feels.
[EDIT: now with an extra chapter as a coda to chapter 3]

The Staals are a well known, well respected family, and Jeff has so many sisters. It’s not a surprise when his parents pull him aside one day, a few months after his eighteenth birthday and say, “Jeff, we’ve had an offer from the Staals.”

Summary
A sub has never been drafted first overall.
A sub has never captained an NHL team.
Subs are barely even tolerated in the league. It's not a surprise really that hockey players are mostly doms; it's a dominant sort of sport. Lots of unrefined violent men trying to hurt each other. As soon as Auston figured out he was going to make it for real he knew it was going to be a problem.
Because Auston Matthews is a submissive and he’s going to go first overall.

Summary
Mitch Marner is a millionaire. So he doesn't need a sugar daddy, but just because he doesn't need one, doesn't mean he doesn't WANT one. So he signs up for a sugar daddy dating app - which leads to an unexpected connection.
This is a sugar daddy fic, which is not an AU. Which shouldn't be possible with millionaire hockey players. But I just, every time I see Mitch Marner I think "damn, that boy needs someone to take care of him"

Summary
Just once, when the trade to Dallas is announced, Tyler forgets to give a shit and asks Brownie if he can read it. Maybe that’ll cheer him up in fucking Texas, he thinks, but Brownie just stares. “Never seen those kinda letters before, dude. Like, that’s not even an alphabet that exists, I bet.”
Then he seems to remember that this is Tyler’s soulmark they’re talking about. “Sorry, man. I have no idea. Sucks.”
