Against her better judgement, Liz agrees to pretend to be Reddington's wife to try to catch a Blacklister.

"What. Was that." She whispered in the direction of the napkin, not meeting his eyes.
She knew that if she had been able to see his face, he'd be wearing an expression of pure innocence that would make her blood boil.
"What was what?" He whispered back, and she felt his breath lightly on the back of her hand, which she tugged out from under his and folded in her lap.
"That! The kiss- we didn't discuss that," she murmured, dabbing delicately at the corners of her mouth with her napkin.
"Merely playing the part, my dear," Red responded, and she snuck a glance at him, confirming that he was indeed wearing a very smug look.
"Well we don't have to play it so dramatically," she emphasized.

Liz could see Red’s mind working as he interpreted the scene before him - Liz and a strange man alone in a small private room, empty champagne glasses on the table. The tic beneath his eye jump-started, and Liz could read the displeasure that laid beneath his mask of nonchalance. Red met her gaze and she glared at him, frustration burning in her gut. It was just like him to show up where he shouldn’t at exactly the wrong time. How did he even know she would be here?
