Jason recognizes the kid on the news, he realizes, when he idly glances up from his book to the TV playing silently in front of him.
That’s not unusual, per say.
Kids from Crime Alley, from the Narrows? They make the news all the time, and he knows, or knew, a lot of ‘em. They’re always warnings, tragic and broken, and even if they don’t use the kids’ names, he can usually recognize the faces the headlines are paired with.
They aren't usually being labeled as "domestic terrorists" on national television, though. But maybe Percy Jackson's just always been an outlier. Jason remembers he was a pretty weird kid, from the very few times they met.

Peter's falling.
Not literally of course, as it's kinda hard to fall when you’ve been strapped to a table for an indeterminable amount of time, writhing in agony.
But it sure feels like he's falling.
Down, down, down and right out of his mind.
But the worst part is, he doesn’t even think he minds anymore (at least it might make everything stop hurting).
Or, Peter gets bit by a Spider, Norman finds out immediately, and our favorite web-slinger’s backstory takes a few wrong turns and Peter loses his mind.

How's Peter supposed to explain all the little changes that come from being a spider-mutate to his new, and completely unexpected, protege?
Like, “Hey, being Spider-Man is great and everything, but there’s a whole, whole lot the public doesn’t get to see that comes along with being part spider, and not to freak you out or anything, but you just need to read through this list of frankly insane-sounding effects that you might not ever even encounter with your specific mutation! Have fun and let me know if you have questions!”
Or maybe something like, “Hey, so you should know you aren’t a monster, but you aren’t exactly human anymore and can expect some changes in your near future. Just wanted to let you know that! Feel free to consult this notebook I've been keeping since my own bite for changes and potential solutions.”
Pssh, yeah right. Like either of those would work.

Una tormenta de nieve fuera de temporada toma por sorpresa a los Spider-Man de Nueva York. Lo que parecía un simple patrullaje termina con Peter y Miles enfrentando algo que va más allá del frío: instintos, respuestas que no entienden del todo, y un vínculo que comienza a transformarse.
Latencia es una colección de fragmentos donde el sentido arácnido se intensifica, el cuerpo reacciona antes que la mente, y la conexión entre ambos Spider-Men evoluciona de formas inesperadas. No hay una línea recta, solo momentos entre la calma y el caos, entre el deber y el instinto.
pd: actualizaciones esporádicas, no tengo ni idea de a donde quiero llegar con esto pero soy completamente incapaz de hacer historias cortas asi que conociéndome a medida que escriba surgirá una trama, o quien sabe?, puede que sea la primera vez que termine una historia, la esperanza es lo ultimo que se pierde

Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)
