Summary
Buck knows how this goes. People go, even when they don’t mean to. Even when they say they won’t.
Eddie swears that won’t happen. That he and Christopher will always be Buck’s family, even if they're in Texas. That leaving doesn’t mean losing.
But Buck has heard that one before. And Eddie is boarding a plane.
(Or: Buck tries to let Eddie go, Eddie finally realizes what that really means for them, and the flight attendant who ships them gives him one last chance to make things right.)

Summary
The Buckley Parents are coming to town, and Buck is spiraling—because of course he is. Luckily, Eddie is more than happy to shut that down with a monologue that is absolutely, 100%, guaranteed not romantic in any way. It definitely doesn't read like a love confession. It's a platonic love confession, that's it. Just one dude telling another how much he loves him. Platonically. Obviously.
(Buck and Eddie aren't in a romantic relationship yet in this fic, it's just... another little stepping stone for them. That's how I see it, anyway. Because yes. Yes, they are very much in love with each other in this fic. Totally self-indulgent because I hate that Buck thinks he needs to be loved 'anyway'.)

Step 2: Accidentally live together. (Also check.)
Step 3: Panic about officially moving in because feelings are scary. (CHECK.)
Step 4: Ask literally everyone except each other for advice. (Classic.)
Step 5: Finally talk about it... while almost setting the kitchen on fire. (They're firefighters, it's fine.)Necessarily in that order.

Summary
Eddie kisses Buck for the first time, with a little anxious preamble, while they are already busy being domestic and making some pasta and garlic bread for dinner. That's it, that's the plot.
Features: nervous Eddie, some comfort, and general joy

Summary
Panicking about his (very) newly discovered feelings for Buck and that he might not actually be as straight as he always thought he was, Eddie goes to an old friend for help. Eddie is worried that Chris might think that Eddie didn't love his mom, so he goes to the obvious source of advice: the gay man who's love for his wife has never been in doubt: Michael Grant.
Essentially: Eddie panics. Michael helps. That's it, that's the plot. (Eddie and Michael are the only characters that actually appear in the story.)

Summary
A group of kids nearby had noticed. Buck caught the whispers first.
“Did you see his leg?”
“Looks gross.”
“Is that real?”
He felt the heat rise in his cheeks, shame curling low in his stomach. He didn’t move. Didn’t speak. Just waited for Christopher, willing himself not to flinch.
Then he heard it—clear, loud, and furious.
“Hey! That’s my Bucky!”
OR
After the truck bombing Buck is insecure about his scars. His parents point out exactly how ugly the scars look and the firefam and Chris react.

Summary
“I don’t know what to do,” Buck admits, defeated.
Eddie blinks. “You…don’t know how to floss?”
Buck glares at him. “Obviously I know how to floss,” he sasses, which is a good point. Eddie has seen him do it hundreds of times. Buck is very diligent with his oral hygiene. “I just don’t know whether I should. It’s not sexy. I wouldn’t usually, if I - - y’know, historically, at this point,” he says, gesturing between them. “I wouldn’t.”
Or, Eddie is a low maintenance sleeper. Buck tries to explode his snoring strips with his mind.

Summary
After waking up in the hospital with a bad case of amnesia, Evan Buckley is reverted to his sixteen year old self. Much to the 118's surprise, this version of Buck is nothing like the man they've come to know and love. He's shy, skittish and quiet- everything their Buck is not. What could possibly have made their friend turn out like this?
And why do none of them have any idea about his past? Will Buck be able to keep his secrets, or will his sixteen year old self ruin everything he worked so hard to hide?
