    Summary

Mehrak may not be the smartest piece of machinery out there, but it is nothing if not devoted to its creator. Anything Kaveh asks of it, Mehrak will perform to the best of its capabilities.

One day, it finds itself presented with its greatest challenge yet: to make Kaveh “happy”.

In which Mehrak mistakes a throwaway comment from Kaveh as an order and does everything in its (regrettably limited) power to fulfill it. When it realizes that Kaveh’s happiness could lie with a certain roommate, it intends to throw everything it has into playing matchmaker.

(And if it learns a little bit more about itself along the way—well, all the better, right?)

    Summary

Five times Kaveh launched a dramatic crusade against perceived rivals for Alhaitham’s attention (with the conviction of a scorned philosopher-architect, involving suspicious soy milk, academic puns, semi-nude modeling, a watercolor balcony, and a flipped symposium chair). And the one time Alhaitham broke his champagne flute—and finally admitted he didn’t want to share.

    Summary

“You don’t need to tell me. I—I know, okay? Logically, I know we will be fine. But I can’t help it,” he said, sinking his nails into the fabric of his shirt. “I can’t help thinking that… that…”
“Can’t help thinking what?” he asked, voice low and void of any teasing. His gaze flat, his breathing calm. Kaveh fumed at the fact that he was the only one visibly affected.
“Can’t help thinking that I’m going to lose everything to the sands again.”
Perhaps only his father had died in the desert, but Kaveh’s entire home ended up swallowed by those same quicksands too.

OR: Kaveh and Alhaitham find themselves unpacking their own feelings instead of packing their bags.
