“Don’t fucking call me that,” Logan rumbled. “I mean it, Wade.”
“You don’t actually hate it, do you? This is just our thing. I call you a cutesy nickname and you react like it’s the worst thing you’ve ever been called. You think about punching me. I think about that passionate kiss we shared, more often than I should or is healthy. Then we move on and do it all over again.”
Logan leaned back in his chair and sighed. He really, really, really, really wanted a fucking drink.

And then they got separated and Wade was all the way across the room, far out of reach, and being shoved to the floor by at least eight people, and they were being shot at by special guns and then everything went dark.
He was going back. He was going to get him back now, and if they hurt Wade, he swore to any god willing to listen, all bets were off. How dare they.

Logan has never been good at emotions, or taking care of people. Especially not at putting his own bullshit aside and staying. But then Wade gets captured and hurt, and he needs Logan. And maybe, just this once, he can get his shit together enough to help Wade put his broken pieces back together.

This could have been so much easier if the universe hadn't fucked them both up so badly over and over and over. But then again they wouldn't be here if it weren't for all that.
Still they are determined to find a way to make this work even if the universe is hellbent on disappointing them.

Summary
Logan tries to be discreet about it, but Wade knows. He's been waking up in a cold sweat frequently now. The memories of Delta's and Weapon X's program are more clearer in his dreams now. God knows what he has been saying, or screaming, in his sleep. Logan knows, it's obvious that he does. Whenever Wade would wake up, there's a silent question behind the mutant's eyes. He's also a little .. softer? with his words. It's small, barely noticeable. Yet, Wade had been berated an ungodly amount of times to not noticed the subtle tone shift. He brushes it aside every time he wakes up. It's embarrassing, honestly. He had pride himself in never letting bad experiences effect him, but the whole situation just elevated his nightmares.
How shameful it is to be this vulnerable and how the only person who's watching him slowly break down is Logan fucking Howlett.

Wade faces an existential crisis during Delta's program with Logan by his side. Logan decides to hang around after saving Wade, offering some comfort

And ohhh, nope. No, Logan didn’t like that at all. He had balled up fists locked and loaded, and he wasn’t even bothering to blink. Showoff.
“Let me get this straight: you lose fucking memories? Hours worth of memories? Why the fuck didn’t you tell me that? Jesus Christ."
Logan's trembling fingers–notably fucking trembling–went to his hair, stroking over the dark locks and pulling at the tangles that caught between them. His eyes were watery.
Fuck.
(Wade doesn't like to talk about the Bad Pain Days. Too bad Logan is a considerate sonofabitch and enlists Hank to make an extra-special painkiller to help.)

What he’s got so far:1. He lives with a man named Wade and an old lady named Blind Al and the ugliest dog he’s ever seen in his life inexplicably named Mary.
2. He’s still an X-Man, or at least working with the X-Men, but he doesn’t live there anymore. Maybe he moved out of the mansion to live with Wade? He can’t imagine why they’d choose this shithole instead of there, but maybe Blind Al had something to do with it? She wasn’t frail by any means, but living alone in the city, blind and elderly, can’t be easy, and in his experience the older people get the more stubborn they become. She probably refused to leave and Wade stayed to take care of her. And Logan had moved in at some point when they became serious.
Because that’s the third thing he’s figured out. Wade is his boyfriend - or partner, as he’d put it earlier. (Boyfriend did sound a bit immature for men their ages).

With that, he pulled away and Wade would have maybe even missed the closeness and warmth, if his friend hadn't started to laugh. Logan was laughing at him and only then he got it what had just happened.
