Have you ever considered how deep a connection you make with your player character when you get to design their looks and make choices? And then… get to a point in the game where you feel so deeply connected you start sobbing?
Stars oh stars I hate when your character starts to cough up light in Final Fantasy 14… That deep-set terror of what it means to be how this world can’t handle more light… not again…
Feo Ul’s offer to give me the rightful crown… how all of faerie kind would protect me…
I admit I stopped playing for a long while after that cut scene… musing the what ifs… truly touched by how Feo Ul truly saw the player as their own…
Then I started to play Kingdom Hearts. Knowing it was made by the same company and many of the same ideas brought over…
And couldn’t help but feel terror that too much light is just as bad as too much darkness.
So here’s a little Isekai for self indulgence.
Trapped in the body of Alichino, light overflowing.
Ending up in Kingdom Hearts…
Knowledge of what is to come makes things rather complicated, especially when you are dropped off where so many threads start to be woven... -

Nightmare was caught up in millenia of torment from his perspective until a trapped Operator (Ayatan) found him. Pulling him out of his endless torment to form a pact.
I whole heartedly blame you Eclipse for this first chapter. That Octavia quote was too golden lol -
