Summary
Something broke free and rattled loose in Roy Kent’s heart in Amsterdam. He didn’t know what it was, but he could feel it in there, shaking with every breath and hitting against his ribs and poking his chest at night when he was trying to sleep alone in the bed that felt far too big for him. It settled down a bit when he went to fetch Jamie and found him waiting at the door, bright-eyed and eager.

Summary
A denim vest stays tucked between his bed and the wall and he reaches for in the night, most nights. There’s blood on it, still, old and dark, sunk deep into the fiber but he can never bring himself to wash it. Not when the collar still smells vaguely of cigarettes. The faint tang of spilled beer and sweat had been the first to fade. He misses when he could still smell weed, and motor oil, and the pine-forward scent of cheap aftershave, too.
Eau du Metalhead.
The smell makes him think of fidgeting hands with ink-stained fingers that spin silver rings around and around; a face with eyes probably too large for it, hovering too close to Steve’s own; a soft mouth that only ever really stopped running the once.
Wild curls. Loud music. A louder laugh.
But this will pass, he tells himself.
It will.
Eventually...

ORSteve Harrington was never the same after Eddie's death. He's pretty sure '86 was NO ONE's year. But 1990 might just be where something shifts.

Summary
His grandad used to say, lightning never strikes twice. He would give Roy a sly grin when he did, eyes twinkling and accent thick. Even then, Roy knew it held more meaning than the obvious.
